Yali, National Reserve Viognier 2010, Chile
We featured the excellent Milton Vineyards Viognier from New Zealand just a couple of weeks ago, but this is a wine I’ve been waiting to arrive in stores since I tasted it last November. It’s from Chile and is currently on promotion too. It has soft, downy peach and ripe mango aromatics and a palate that just explodes with fruit cocktail flavours that flood across the mouth. But there is a central core to this wine too, of lemon and lime acidity off of which those more luscious, tropical flavours hang into a long, balanced finish. 7.99, but 6.39 on offer when you buy two, Majestic.
