(2021) Roter Veltliner is an Austrian grape variety, not believed to be related to the more familiar Grüner Veltliner. Pear compote and light spice on the nose, a suggestion of creaminess. Loads of ripe, sweet and succulent pear fruit on the palate too, and there is texture, expansive, easy-drinking, but the appley acid balance is excellent. At 11.5% alcohol it is also a versatile everyday white.
