(2016) A very typical, traditional and extremely well done example of a big, American oak-aged South Australian Shiraz, crammed with spice, tobacco and dusty blue/black fruit, a great mulberry warmth and open-armed style. On the palate it delivers much the same, the rich, thick, dark fruits layered with the chariness and spice of the barrels, but it does not lack definition: the tannins are grippy, the acidity feels natural and fresh, and the berry fruit and spice finish goes on with considerable length.
