Better than the 2010?I'm very excited about this release - the best in years IMHO. Obviously one shouldn't judge on the basis of a few hours with one bottle, but this was lovely.
Although I was initially concerned that it was a touch on the sterile side; after some air and with some food, the soubois, spices and fruit melange began to work their magic. Just my cup of tea. I suspect this might even persuade a few Musaroskeptics that there's quality materiel here....
Now I didn't like the 2013 I had (tried 3 bottles, too!), but others have. I'm wondering if there's massive batch variation.I'm having a sample of this delivered AFAIK, so looking forward to tasting. I really liked the 2013, which was also surprisingly (?) clean but a really lovely wine.
Don't think I've tried that for ages! Have you?My most recently purchased vintage is 2009.
Only tasted it once unfortunately. Now I didn't like the 2013 I had (tried 3 bottles, too!), but others have. I'm wondering if there's massive batch variation.
Not opened one yet. The most recent I’ve opened is 2004. (Tried ‘11 at a tasting). History has shown me there’s not much point in (me) opening a bottle before its 15th year.Don't think I've tried that for ages! Have you?
Older? Do you mean younger?Despite having some '11 & '12, I haven't tried anything older than '10.
However, I'll be on the lookout for the '14 when it pops up in my LWS thanks Alex.
Hmm, might have to go open a bottle for tonight now...
Very nice! Just to be clear, Good though the 14 is, I'd much rather have the 01 right now!Yes indeed, this lockdown is making me slightly mad...
PS '01 now in the decanter for this evening...
That's a nice way of putting it! I'm never sure how to score young wines like this. For immediate drinking pleasure, maybe I'd say 91/92, but there is potential for rather more to come...This is a particularly generous and full Musar vintage
