(2025) From Blewitt Springs in Grenache central, McLaren Vale, this comes from 70-year-old, dry-grown bush vines. Wild ferment was followed by 10 months in French oak puncheons. Despite the 14.5% alcohol it's a wine of finesse this, buoyant and juicy in the violets and red fruit spectrum. it is taut, with an almost coal dust hint of darkness, perhaps from the fruit as well as oak. On the palate plenty of juiciness again, and medium-bodied to again show some elegance. Alcohol is felt just a tad in the finish, but the smoothness of the tannins and elegance of the acidity balance that.
